Apparently, now is the time to buy a minivan. That's what seems to be the case with the outgoing Dodge Grand Caravan. 2013 will be the final year for this award winning family hauler, as this American auto maker trades it in for a crossover vehicle.
"Through October, the Dodge Grand Caravan was first [in minivan sales], recording 92,930 sales," according to Rick Kranz of Automotive News.1
Dodge numbers also take into account fleet sales. The Caravan minivan is a popular vehicle used by many rental car agencies, as well as livery cab companies. Redesigned slightly to make it a more "Ram" type vehicle, the van now features a crosshair grille and that classic Stow-and-Go seating, made famous by parent company Chrysler.
The Japanese are running just behind Dodge when it comes to van sales for 2011. But as long as Dodge parts suppliers are able to deliver, there's no reason shoppers will find empty lots.
There are plenty of 2011 Dodge Grand Caravans still available for a test drive at Truckmasters - 2020 E. Indian School in Phoenix, AZ.
