After patiently waiting finally, a Jeep Pickup will be coming to dealerships, including Truckmasters in Phoenix, Arizona - but in 2015.
Having already been refreshed for its next generation run, Jeep's production of the new pickup won't start until next year. It's been said that a version of the Jeep Wrangler SUV could be transformed into the rumored upcoming truck.
Jeep CEO Micheal Manley said "It is too late in Wrangler's production cycle to add a pickup. The 2015 or 2016 makes more sense." Also adding, "That's when we will refresh the Wrangler."1
Rumors of a new pickup have been floating around the web since September of 2010 when the auto maker introduced a Wrangler-based pickup concept in Orlando, named JK-8. However, Jeep hasn't had a pickup since the Comanche, in 1986.
In 2010 a JK-8 body kit was available from Jeep's official parts maker, Mopar, for $5499. There were a total of 300 kits sold which included pickup bed floor, body panels, fiberglass cap and bulkhead.
