How to Optimize Your MPG

You don't have to buy a car or truck with higher EPA-estimated MPG to improve your mileage Truth be told, some of the responsibility for MPG lies in the driver, not the car.

People savvy to the hypermiling craze can attest to the truth of this not-so-common wisdom. If you don't know what hypermiling is, it's the art of pushing a vehicle's fuel efficiency to new limits. While some of the practices of hypermiling are admittedly a bit extreme (i.e., taking a 25 mpg corner at 50), there are some safer practices that we can…

Lost Motor Design Trends

Automotive technology advances over time, and some regular features fall to the wayside. Remember the days of steering-column-mounted shifters and armrest ashtrays? Every vehicle once came with both. Take a look back at some of automotive's classic standard features, which you would be hard pressed to find today.

Ashtrays
Your grandmother's Buick and your father's Chevrolet both included ashtrays in either armrests, dashboards, or both. These butt-depositories were once made of metal, until plastic became popular in the '80's. Today, much like a tape player, you'd have a tough time finding a car that's…

The Value of Used Cars

Cars.com recently went over some of the best reasons to go for used, or pre-owned, cars over new ones. "As the price of new cars has climbed, used vehicles have become more popular than ever. They're also more expensive than ever...but thanks to engineering strides, vehicles have never been more durable and maintenance-free, and previously owned vehicles are no less a value."

This according to Cars.com writer Joe Wiesenfelder.

"Because new vehicles lose such a high percentage of their value as soon as they're driven off a dealer's lot, used cars have always appealed…

Dodge New Logo Revealed

Dodge has been working on a new logo to take a grille spot on all upcoming vehicles, once RAM graduates to its own entity next year.

It's been a while since RAM first took its place at the front of all Dodge vehicles, and we hate to see it go. Why not keep the RAM shield for Dodge cars, and just put a slightly changed RAM head, minus the background shield, on RAM trucks?

Dodge's updated logo was rumored to apparently sport "the company's name in between cross-hairs." Now we've seen the real branding come to…
